Whereas, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease that can lead to serious illness or death, and
Whereas, on April 2, 2020, The Town of Oakland issued a Declaration of Emergency to limit the spread of that disease; and
Whereas, on April 8, 2020 that order was renewed for a seven-day period with additions; and
Whereas, on April 15, 2020 that order was renewed for a seven-day period with no new additions; and
Whereas, the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact, is still a public health emergency in the Town of Oakland
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT, I, Chris Goodman, Mayor of the Town of Oakland, by virtue of the power vested in me by Title 58, Chapter 2, Title 38, Chapter 39 hereby declare a state of emergency exists as it relates to COVID-19 and response to COVID-19 (“Emergency”) and invoke the authority granted by Tennessee Code Annotated 58-2-110, 58-2-104, and 38-9-101 et seq. and all other applicable laws for the duration of the emergency. In addition, I
further declare and order the following:
- The Emergency Declaration of April 15, 2020 is renewed for an additional seven-day period.
- The renewed order is renewed in its entirety with no new additions.
This Declaration and Order shall take effect immediately from and after its issuance, the public welfare requiring it.
